  • Individual Housing Contracts

What is an individual housing contract?

An individual housing contract provides each resident with their own separate housing contract and responsibility for only his/her rental installments and applicable utility and parking charges. By signing an individual housing contract , you are only taking responsibility for your rental installments and housing contract terms and will not be held liable for any delinquent amounts owed by your roommate(s).

Can I cancel my housing contract after signing it

Students that have withdrawn or are no longer attending TAMU-CC are eligible to cancel their housing contract in accordance with the terms stated in the housing contract. To begin the housing contract cancellation process, please complete this form and upload the requested documentation. All cancellations are subject to review and approval.
Requests will be reviewed and the student will be notified of the decision.  The student and/or guarantor is responsible for any past due payments, fees, or other charges.

What does my housing contract like?

The Momentum Village and Miramar housing contracts consists of a first page that is unique to your specific move in and move out, then there are pages 2-10 that make up the housing contract body.  For an example of a housing contract please visit the housing portal.

    Is living on-campus required?

Yes, living on-campus at Miramar for two semesters (Fall/Spring) is required for first-year students. Please visit the Residency Requirement page for more information.

  • Guarantor

    What is a guarantor?

To mitigate the risk of delinquent or defaulting residents, we require applicants to provide someone to guarantee their housing contract.

    When is a guarantor required?

All residents require a guarantor to complete the guaranty agreement.

Can I be my own guarantor?

A resident can act as their own guarantor if they can show documentation as outlined in the housing contract that they have income greater than three times the rental installment.

What paperwork is required with a guarantor?

The guarantor will need to sign the guaranty agreement. If the resident is not of legal age to execute a contract, the guarantor will be required to sign both the housing contract and guaranty agreement.

  • Housing Contract Term and Rental Installments

    When are the installments due?

Housing Contract installment amount will be reflected on your tuition and fee statement and payment is due in accordance with the University’s deadline for payment of tuition and fees.

How can I make a payment?

Payments can be made online at http://tamucc.edu/sail  , or by check or money order payable to the “Texas A&M University – Corpus Christi “and hand-delivered to the Business Office located in Student Services Center (Round Building).

Can I use Financial Aid or my Scholarship to pay my rental installment?

Yes, once all obligations owed to the university have been paid in full, you may use any remaining funds to pay for housing. Residents who wish to use their financial assistance to pay for housing must first complete the Housing Payment Option (HPO) Request form.  This form is completed online when also completing your resident profile.  Completing the form tells Islander Housing and TAMU-CC that you expect to have enough financial assistance funds to cover at least a portion of your housing expenses and that you want TAMU-CC to pay the funds directly to Miramar or Momentum Village.

  • Roommate Matching and Requests

Can I live with my friends?

You may request roommates by selecting them in the housing portal after you sign your housing contract. You will not be able to gain access to the profile section of the housing portal until your housing contract is completed. Whenever possible, a mutual roommate request will be honored. If you are interested in gender inclusive housing, please reach out to our community.

What is Roommate matching and how does it work?

Roommate matching is the process by which roommates are matched together using roommate profiles. You can utilize our roommate matching service to find one or more roommates, or you can bring all of your own roommates.

What if I don't have anyone specific I want to live with?

When you sign your housing contract, you will complete Resident Profile Form indicating specific information that will help us match you with a roommate. We will place you with another student with similar interests, when possible.

    Is Islander Housing co-ed?

Residence hall rooms and apartments with shared bathrooms are assigned as single-gender units based on gender provided through the University's admission application. There are no gender-specific buildings or floors, so neighbors may be of any gender. Students seeking a housing assignment with roommates can voluntarily opt into Gender Inclusive Housing (GIH) in any residential space during the housing application process. In GIH housing residents may be of any gender expression. To obtain more information about GIH, please email islanderhousing@americancampus.com.

I am a Miramar resident, can I transfer to a private room with a private bathroom?

Yes! To begin the transfer request process, email IslanderHousing@americancampus.com with your name, A-number, cell phone number, and the reason for your request. A member of the Miramar staff will reach out to you and review potential options. Please note that spaces are limited and pricing will vary.

  • Meal Plan

Is it necessary to purchase a meal plan to live at Islander Housing?

The meal plan is required for all Miramar residents. The meal plan is optional for all Momentum Village residents.  You can find the various and affordable meal plan options here.

  • Parking and Transportation

    Do I need a TAMU-CC parking permit?

Residents who bring a car must purchase a University Resident parking permit through the University Police Department(UPD). The Resident Permit allows the student to park in designated Resident only parking lots or in combined Resident/General parking lots. The permit does not give access to General Parking lots.

    Momentum Village
Residents will be issued a free permit that is only valid within the Momentum Village gates. Those wishing to park on the Island Campus must either purchase a General Permit, Garage Permit or pay for hourly parking in the garage.

  • Maintenance

How do I submit a maintenance request?

A maintenance request needs to be submitted any time a resident notices that something is broken or not working properly.  The request can be submitted 24/7 by visiting the Housing Portal or notifying the office during office hours.

  • Renters Insurance

Is insurance coverage for my belongings included as part of my housing contract?

Coverage for your personal belongings is not included as part of your housing contract. Renters insurance can provide coverage for loss or damage to your personal belongings (including fire, theft, or natural causes). Renters insurance is not required but highly recommended.
