American Campus Communities and Bilt Expand Partnership Following Strong First-Year Results
First-year results show how connecting home and the surrounding neighborhood can transform the student resident experience as ACC expands Bilt’s operating system across its communities.
NEW YORK, September 8, 2026— As more than 70,000 Bilt Members move-in to American Campus Communities (ACC), ACC and Bilt, the neighborhood operating system for housing, today announced first-year results from their partnership and plans to expand Bilt’s Neighborhood OS across the resident experience.
Over the past year, ACC and Bilt have connected more of the resident journey, from paying rent and earning rewards to handling day-to-day life at home and in the neighborhood. ACC has processed nearly $700 million in rent payments through Bilt, generating more than 200 million Bilt Points that residents have put toward student loans, restaurants near campus, travel home, future rent payments, and more.
Residents have also spent more than $7 million in the neighborhood, extending the value of where they live into the businesses and experiences around them. Through Bilt’s monthly Rent Day®, residents can access bonus rewards and exclusive experiences – and even play for the chance to get their rent covered through Rent Free™. Since January, three ACC residents have won, including one resident who earned an entire year of housing paid by Bilt.
The impact extends to ACC’s onsite teams, too. The Bilt Concierge now resolves approximately 84% resident inquiries handled through the platform without requiring staff intervention, giving each property team back nearly 19 hours every month to focus on their residents and community.
“Where students live shapes far more than their experience at home — it shapes how they connect to the neighborhood around them and begin building an independent life,” said ACC CMO Kimmy Kelly. “Our partnership with Bilt allows us to extend true hospitality beyond the front door, connecting students to the places they eat, shop, and spend time, while also making everyday moments like paying rent more rewarding and helping them build their credit history for what comes next."

Bilt is helping ACC deliver that hospitality through one unified, agentic layer that integrates with its property management system. Instead of residents and onsite teams navigating multiple logins and disconnected workflows, Bilt orchestrates those systems through one experience. By connecting resident identity across payments, loyalty, bookings, and more, Bilt powers a concierge that can answer questions, personalize recommendations, and take action on residents’ behalf – like paying rent, calling a Lyft ride, transferring prescriptions at Walgreens, and more.
As ACC residents move into their new homes for the school year, they will receive curated welcome-home with giveaways and offers from Bilt’s neighborhood partners, including Bed Bath & Beyond and Grubhub, while Bilt Concierge and Neighborhood Benefits™ connect them to services and experiences at home and around campus.
“Student housing is a critical part of the connected operating system Bilt is building,” said David Wyler, Co-Founder and Chief Business Officer at Bilt. “With ACC, we’re creating one unified identity that can follow members from their first apartment on campus, to their next rental, and eventually to homeownership. And that relationship extends beyond the front door—connecting where people live with where they spend, so our partners can deliver more personalized hospitality at every stage of the housing journey.”
