American Campus Communities named to Newsweek's 2026 Most Trustworthy Companies in America list
Nation's largest student housing provider recognized as a 5-Year Champion, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to students, service and trusted partnership!
AUSTIN, Texas, April 1, 2026 — American Campus Communities, the nation's largest developer, owner and manager of high-quality student housing communities, today announced it has been named to Newsweek's Most Trustworthy Companies in America 2026 list, presented in collaboration with Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.
ACC was recognized in the Real Estate & Housing industry category and also honored as a 5-Year Champion, underscoring the consistency with which the company has built and maintained trust across the communities and stakeholders it serves. For ACC, the milestone reflects a sustained commitment to putting students first, supporting university partners and delivering with transparency, accountability and care.
"We are honored to be recognized by Newsweek as one of America's most trustworthy companies for the fifth consecutive year," said Rob Palleschi, CEO of American Campus Communities. "This recognition reflects the dedication of our teams across the country and our continued focus on creating environments where students can live, learn and thrive."
The Most Trustworthy Companies in America 2026 ranking recognizes 700 companies across 23 industries. According to the published methodology, the ranking was based on an independent survey of 25,000 U.S. residents that generated 101,000 company evaluations across three dimensions of trust - customer trust, investor trust and employee trust – combined with a social listening analysis of 307,000 mentions gathered over a five-month period.
Statista and Newsweek weighted overall scoring 80 percent on survey results and 20 percent on social listening, with the survey component reflecting 40 percent investor trust, 40 percent customer trust and 20 percent employee trust. The methodology also noted that a prior-year score was considered at a lower weighting because trust builds over a long period of time.
Since 1993, universities and their communities have trusted ACC to help advance financial, academic and environmental goals through expert community development, seamless operations and resident life programming that supports academic achievement, well-being and belonging.
