Our projects broke new ground in both student success and sustainability

At American Campus Communities, we use our 30+ years of development expertise to deliver high-quality communities that help students succeed. Since the Fall of 2023, we’ve partnered with top universities to break ground on four new student housing communities, and we’re on track to open and welcome students to six other new ACC communities across the country in 2024.

These projects will help our university partners fulfill the demand for modern live-learn environments while also meeting their long-term sustainability goals. Developing in a public-private partnership also helps these forward-thinking institutions focus on their core competencies while delivering the best possible experience for their students.

2023-2024 Groundbreakings

Arizona State University: Herberger Institute for Design and the Arts
Owned ACE Transaction

This 820-bed, living-learning community will be tailored to the unique needs of students studying at ASU’s Herberger Institute, blending living areas, social and dining areas, and state-of-the-art makerspaces, all united by inspiring design. The project, anticipated to open in Fall 2025, is targeting LEED Gold certification.

Georgetown University: Henle Village
Third-party development and management

Slated for delivery in Fall 2025, Henle Village will offer apartment-style living for 740 residents on Georgetown’s main campus. Henle Village is targeting LEED Platinum certification, following in the footsteps of our award-winning 55H Street development that opened in Fall 2022.

University of Michigan: Central Campus Residential Community
Third-party development and management

This 2,300-bed community at the University of Michigan, anticipated to open in 2026, will significantly alleviate a decades-long shortage of on-campus student housing. Aligned with the university's carbon neutrality goals, it will also target LEED Platinum certification.

Purdue University: Discovery Park District
Third-party development and management

Construction is underway on this new project night next to the heart of Purdue's campus. This community will welcome more than 600 students starting Fall 2025 and will create an active and vibrant identity within the Discovery Park district.
